There was something about them that just annoyed me. The look on their face and the overly confident, almost dismissive, way in which they spoke. After the first couple of encounters with them I had built up a complete narrative in my head about what they were like and why I wanted nothing to do with them.

The only problem with my analysis was that it was completely wrong.

A few days ago, despite my conviction that I was justified in my opinion, I ended up sitting down with them in a social setting and found myself really enjoying the conversation. I had got this wrong!

In today’s message I want to share with you how first impressions are often wrong and why we need to start assuming the best of people if we want a different experience of life.
